To
register for Deer Stalking Certificate
Level 2 (DSC2) you must first have obtained
your Deer Stalking Cerificate Level 1
(DSC1). There are a number of Assessment
Centres you can register with - the main
ones are BASC
and BDS.
When you register you will be issued with
a portfolio. It is then your responsibility
to have it completed.
Deer
Stalking Certificate Level 2 (DSC2) requires
you to complete 3 witnessed deer culls.
At least one of these must be witnessed
by an Accredited Witness or Assessor.
The others can be witnessed by a Credible
Witness, who must hold DSC2 or a relevant
industry qualification (for example a
Vet or Meat Hygiene Inspector).
DSC2
is not only a test of your competence
in stalking, shooting, gralloching and
lardering deer, it also tests your knowledge
of deer diseases and food hygiene issues.
Training
materials are available from Donington
Deer Management (01332 810757) - they
can supply either a video on deer carcase
preparation, or a training manual.
Further
information is available from DMQ, BASC or BDS.
